CAMP OVERVIEW
Learn to skateboard or take your skating to the next level at our Skate Camp in Manhattan Beach! Ou Camps are open to boys and girls, with or without skating experience, from age 5 to 16. We provide beginner and intermediate level instruction starting from the very basic, getting from A to B, to intermediate tricks including ollies, flip tricks, grinds, ramp skating and much more!
Safety is our number one priority. All campers are required to wear a helmet, elbow pads, knee pads and closed toe shoes. Our coaches are First-Aid & CPR Certified and enforce strict safety rules. Derek Chapin
Head Coach | Manhattan Beach
Coach Derek is a South Bay native and graduate of Mira Costa High School. Derek’s been skateboarding for over 20 years and has volunteered as a mentor for various non-profit skateboard programs. He’s an incredible skateboarder and has a true passion for sharing his love of the sport with others. Our participants are always blown away when Coach Derek takes to the ramps and they usually head home with an autograph on their skateboard. Derek has been a coach with PCH Skate Camps since 2012 and currently runs our Manhattan Beach Summer Camp. He’s also available for Private Lessons and Birthday Parties.
Safety
- Coach Ratio: 1:6
- All Coaches: CPR & First-Aid Certified and Background Checked
- Pads: Campers are required to wear a helmet, elbow and knee pads at all times. Wrist-guards strongly encouraged.
- Location: Camp is held in a private parking enclosed parking garage
- Sunscreen: Sunscreen reapplication breaks are scheduled multiple times throughout the day. Shade tents are provided for full day campers to escape sun exposure.
